I am totally not trying to argue with you, I love your blog and all you do, but this is the portion of the coupon policy I was referring to. “When items are featured on a Buy One, Get One Free promotion, up to two coupons can be used against the items being purchased, as long as the net price does not go below zero for the item being purchased.” So I think it is ok to use two coupons. Do you think I am wrong, I don’t want to pull a fast one at the store.

@Becky,
I know becky, I used to always do scenarios that way. Here is how my contact at Rite explained.
X Product $5.00
X Product $0.00
Use 1 BOGO Coupon
Rite Aid gets paid $5.00 from manufacturer and rite aid pays for one, so they are still getting the $5.00 that you would have paid.
Buy 1 X Products $5.00
Buy 1 X Products 0.00
Use $2.00 Off coupon
You pay Rite Aid $3.00 manufacturer pays $2.00
Buy 1 X Product $5.00
Buy 1 X Product $0.00
use (2) $2.00/1
You pay $1.00 and Rite Aid gets paid $2.00 because you only bought one, Rite Aid loses $2.00 .
Does that make sense? I am just relaying the way it was explained to me. I am not necessarily saying its right or wrong, but I am no longer posting it because so many people have had a problem with it and customer service is giving that answer.
Shannon says
@Becky,
P.S. I am going to ask in store too :)
Becky says
I have always been able to use a coupon on free items-to me this is the same as the BOGO coupon policy they have (if something is bogo you can use two coupons-the policy does not state that it has to be the exact same item), as long as it does not go below zero they have allowed this for me. I am going to try this to see if it works.
Shannon says
@Becky,
Becky actually it is not the same.
With a BOGO sale and BOGO coupon – Rite Aid is giving you one free – you are using the coupon on the one you are paying for. You are not using a coupon on free item.
Noelle says
Can you use 4 – $2/1 Coupons?? Since you are purchasing 4 products?
Shannon says
@Noelle,
Recently Rite Aid has been not allowing it for free items. I have been trying to be more conservative with the scenarios because so many people have had issues lately with using a coupon on a free item.
Diana says
I absolutely LOVE your blog. It’s probably the best one out there. Thank you for this!

Last week, I got a register coupon at the bottom of my receipt for $1 off any $10 purchase of seasonal items. Seems like sunblock should count as a seasonal item, so maybe this coupon could be used in the Coppertone scenario, taking it down to $10 for all 4 items…? It’s worth a try!
Shannon says
@Terri,
YES!
Amy says
My Rite Aid has some sunblock on clearance. Coppertone Face is like $4.99.
