On page 11 of the rebate circular it states that the Crest gift card will be issued after any and all coupons are used. Does this mean that if I purchased:
5 Crest at 5.00 each = $25.00
– $5.00 video values coupon plus
– (5) $2.00/1 coupons
– $2.00 up reward
my total was $8.00 oop I won’t get the $10.00 gift card ?
Shannon says
I already did the rebate and the price is before coupons.

I think you should keep it a separate place in your budget if you are able to. I think it is also helpful to start out with an initial amount – say $100 – specifically for CVS WAGS and/or RA (all your drug store deals). Then when you get your rebates back just put it back into that amount. If you have money makers the amount might eventually increase, or you might feel some room in the drug store budget to buy something that isnt necessarily free or a money maker (after ecbs, rrs, scrs or ups). (for instance, the toy story lunch box deal at RA that Shannon just posted). I believe that Shannon also uses her SCR checks to buy a RA gift card, and then you just always use that to “pay” and then you dont feel the pain of cash, and it is always rolling into itself.
Shannon says
@sherrie,
Yes Sherrie, you are right. I rarely pay cash at Rite Aid, unless there is a huge OOP. I Keep all my rebate money separate, so it never comes out of my budget.
Overtime, you have so many money makers you are always ahead.

Jen T-
I use one of the gift cards from RA that I get back from the deals. I just keep it for all my purchases that I need a little extra money on after coupons. So for example, my trip to RA today was $9.24. I used $9 in UPR and used my gift card for the $.24! I never have to spend OOP anymore!
Jen T says
I’m thinking that might be the answer. =) I already used my last rebates to bail us out on groceries, so I think now that I have some money I’ll just “invest” in the MM’s and then take the money back once I have the rebates to fund it. =)

thats awesome!!!:) great job!!!

I am still getting a hang of this! I wanted to use the $5 off of $25 plus a Tide coupon and the Herbal Essence and a Johnson and Johnson coupon but on the $5 for $25 coupon it says cannot be combined with any other offer. How did you do it?! I want to go tomorrow and test out my “couponing skills” but I don’t want to embarrass myself if I got it all wrong! :)
Shannon says
@Meg,
It means it cannot be combined with another $/$ from rite aid.
Jennifer says
Were you able to use 2 of the $5 off coupons that were printed today from RP?
Shannon says
@Jennifer,
Yep :)

I’ve been tinkering with the budget, and I’m wondering how I factor in the oop for the deals that later end up being MM’s or free from SCR’s and UP rewards.
For example, I’ll spend $12 oop at Rite Aid, but get $12 or more back between all of the programs (I think, sometimes as much as $40 MM!). If I take the $12 out of my grocery budget, that leaves me X amount that week for food. But, if I do all of these deals everywhere, (CVS, Rite Aid, Walgreens) those deals might leave me with $0 for food. =) Eventually when I get the rebates, I can add them into my budget for groceries, but that amount is variable and I don’t feel I should count it. We also don’t have an Aldi’s, or any place that doubles coupons. My main deal places are Safeway and Foods Co (Kroger), and Foods Co won’t take internet coupons, so that’s always a bust. I thought about making a separate “deal” category to the budget.. lol
Shannon says
@Jen T,
Is there a way that you can put aside your rebates etc just to do your deal OOP?
sherrie says
wtg Shannon! I did my sales for last week yesterday, and wow, was it a great week!! SO much stuff and ended up being mm on all my transactions. I am blessed to have at least 10 Rite Aids within 15 min of me so I can search for the deals – the RA that I normally shop at is the one I stopped at last, and they were FULLY stocked with the men’s nivea body wash! I SO wish I had had more coupons from other computers, but it’s not like I NEEDED more men’s body wash, lol!! I was just telling my husband today how RA is the place to shop! I’ve had AMAZING deals there for over a year now!
Maria says
