If you had submitted a Renpure Try Me Free product from Rite Aid, CVS or Wags – you may want to take a look at this. We all know it takes them forever, but now it seems if you used any +Up Rewards or any other form of payment, you will not be getting your rebate. I am not sure how a Rite Aid UPR is another offer from Renpure. UPR are Rite Aid credits for buying another product.
Thank you for using our products. We have had such severe abuse of our rebate program that we were forced to enforce the “not valid with any other offers” rule printed on every rebate card. We are truly sorry that a few hundred people caused us to change our former “loose” treatment of the coupon rule to having to enforce it. Thank you for being a Renpure customer.
You can see more about this on the Renpure Facebook Page.

I had the same problem with the Dickinson rebate .I lost $6.00 RR . So upset
Lynn says
Hey Cristal,
Woke up on the wrong side of bed that you have to put your negative ” 2 Cents” in?? Maybe Denise is grateful for just getting something for Free coz She… like Most hardworking people are Used to paying for everything!!! Yeah,Being Grateful is a hard concept to grasp for depressing people.
Cristal says
Hey Denise, when you found the “try free” tag you said you were grateful…what were you grateful for? Did you send in the rebate and race to the bank to cash it? If you said yes, you’re no better then a couponer because you saw something you could get for free and you bought it! But if you chose not to send the rebate in, I am still wondering what you are “grateful” for.
Denise says
I found this product in Walmart with the “try free” tags and was grateful. You people who “OVERDOSE” on Couponing are acting like children. All you want is something for free and are obsessed with it. So quit your whinning and grow up. What are you teaching your kids??? People complain all the time about abusing the Welfare system and food stamps and Medicaid. Are you not trying to do the same thing?? I believe in using coupons to help with grocery bills, but don’t abuse this “asistance” and ruin it for everyone else. And, by the way, I love this shampoo and conditioner. It is sulfate free , so your hair won’t have that “squeeky clean” feel like with other products. It’s better for your hair.
Hana says
I saw this product and wanted to try it, and glad I can try it for free. Except I paid it with my UPs earned at riteaid. If Renpure does not reimburse back, then I think we have every right to complain, since it would mean Renpure set out to scam people to try their products.
PJ says
I got a note from them today that says since I got the RR from Walgreens I’m not entitled to anything else.
I won’t EVER purchase their products again.
H says
Got the same thing, PJ. First told me the RR’s constituted a second offer which voids the rebate… had no idea I would get RR’s when I purchased. Bought another one and sent it in since there was nothing saying limit one per household, etc. Sent me another email saying since I sent in a second rebate, it cancelled the 1.99 I should have gotten back (paid 5.99 but got back $4RR’s after purchase)! Have you ever heard of such??? Making up rules as they go!
So I asked for my receipts back and they said they would send them so now I can at least get $1.99 back at Walgreen’s per bottle. Not ever buying that stuff… like Cristal said, it didn’t work on my hair anyway.
Susan says
Thank you all for the warning. I bought the product today and was excited about the UPs it generated, plus the BIGI. I actually got 3 products free and was planning on turning in the rebate for the “Try Me”. I will not bother with the rebate and will not expect much from the products. It is always nice to have this kind of heads up. It will save me wasting a stamp.
Stacey says
I submitted my rebate for this product, and though it took a while to get it, I did receive it.
carol says
I didn’t do the rebate, but I did buy the conditioner when it was on clearance at walgreen and I had a coupon. I thought it was just me…. It smelled nice, but just didn’t work! I couldn’t comb through my hair. It was a tangled mess! I am sorry that you all tried the product in good faith that you would be receiving a rebate…. sort of a reward for trying their product. I don’t have a very good opinion of them after seeing their harsh words
Amanda H says
I bought this back in October and received my rebate. Sure glad I did because I wouldn’t have bought it otherwise!
Brandy says
If you buy other products, how do they know that UPS were used to pay for their particular products??
cristal says
I bought these the last time they had the b1g1 free at walgreens or cvs, sent in my rebate form and if I don’t get a check I am going to be mad. First of all, their products don’t work very well for people with normal hair. It smells good but it weighs my hair down. Secondly, I had to send in my original receipt so I cannot return the product even if I wanted to. If I knew that they would be so ridiculous about actually doing what they said they would do, then I would have NEVER bought the product. What I want to know is are they going to tell those of us who aren’t going to get a rebate check exactly that other than a ridiculous response as they posted.
And on a side note, wouldn’t they want to honor their side of the bargain? Obviously they did the Try me free so that they could find more customers. This is a pretty crappy way of telling those who bought the product that they really don’t care if they increase their customer base or not.
Brittany says
I don’t know what exactly they were referring to as “abuse” by customers, but I agree with one of the first comments. Their statements sounded very unprofessional and a slant towards some of their customers. I have purchased Renpure products before, when Riteaid or CVS has had buy one get one deals, along with the rebate option. Twice they refunded the price of one, which made it free. If this is something that was “abuse” by me, I was unaware their were “rules” and if there were, they needed to have addressed that issue before making remarks towards their customers.
Amber says
They sound very passive aggressive and unprofessional. That statement does not look like it even comes from a professional company. I’m glad I didn’t do that deal.
sandra says
I actually like this product kinda, I agree it is kind of greasy and it smells very strong but it is kinda fruity and nice. There have been Ups on it but they should look at the receipts which they get with every submission and then look at the date on the top and see if it matches with the weeks when THEY decided to do the Ups then discount that from the refund, or just dont do the Ups, jeez. Paying with RR, Ups etc are money like we’ve all been saying, this is dumb. And apparently they are too lazy to to put 2 and 2 together even when they have all the information right in their own hands. whatever
Rhonda says
I Love Renpure! I get the “My Pretty Hair is Parched” I love that it leaves some oil behing after I wash, because my hair is super dry and produces no oil. I don’t think what they are doing with the rebates is right but I’m not going to stop using it.
Liz* says
I think is too funny that Renpure is thinking that someone that used a store credit to pay for their product and wants a rebate is “severely abusing” them… Meanwhile some people are submitting 30 rebates per household and Renpure is just going to fork over and pay for it… I wish I could see how their sales do after this TMF trainwreck…
Sarah says
Wow. I bought them today at Rite Aid, BOGOF… Since I don’t want to deal with wondering whether or not I’ll be getting a refund, I’m just returning them to the store. Geez.
Jodi says
So glad I didn’t buy Renpure this week! I did the rebate back on Black Friday and not crazy about it but for my little girl who uses way too much, I don’t care. I didn’t know if I could send in another rebate or not. Didn’t see anything about limit one per household, but I didn’t want to get burned like I did with the Olay/Allure magazine offer at Christmas time – I only got 1 rebate even though I turned in two rebates for that! Too tired to chase it down! How crummy though of Renpure! Crossing them off my list!!!!!
Nicole says
I’ve had a similar problem with the Neuragen Money Back Guarantee last year. I called customer service because I had not received my check. The very nice agent said it was because I had a negative subtotal, and they do not pay for negative subtotals or anything under $5 OOP. I decided to do it again, and this time I used no coupons when making my purchase. When I returned to the store later on in the week, I was looking to return and purchase again using the coupons I found. The clerk said I did not have to return it, they would just do a post-coupon transaction. I gave them my coupons, they gave me cash. Now my receipt doesn’t show coupons used.
Valerie says
@Nicole,
A money back guarantee is different than a rebate. If you didn’t like the product why would you buy it again?
Nicole says
@Valerie, It was supposed to be a $19.99 MM. I didn’t pay anything for it the first time, but the coupons I used ate into the tax. This caused a negative subtotal.
MMcKenna says
I guess here is my beef…which is really the same thing you are saying just saying it differently :P…the UPR you are paying with is probably from purchasing a different product so how are you “abusing” or double dipping? Crazies. Clearly that’s what you guys are saying, but just had to say it again ;) I bought the shampoo or got it for free at CVS, and it’s just ok.
Robyn says
UP rewards are negotiated by the manufacturer. I understand why Renpure may have a problem because they would have ‘negotiated’ an Up with Rite Aid. However, I don’t remember any Up deals with Renpure so I’m not sure why they are saying there is ‘abuse’ with another offer.
Maybe they think using Up rewards generated from another product is multiple offers? I would understand if it was a Renpure Up, but another product?
Way to tick off customers Renpure. lol
dizzymommy73 says
I fully agree the product isn’t any good. My teenager used the stuff and I swear her hair was greasy and gross afterwards.
As for the rebates, I recently saw a story on the news about rebates/coupons and how much there useage has increased in the last couple years because of the economy. I can’t help but wonder if that is part of it. I remember buying the Neutrogena a few months back and all the issues we had with that. The lady told me at first that i had used UPs to pay for it, but I had also bought other items, those coupons for those products they tried deducting also. Thankfully Neutrogena agreed to fix it. I don’t get how its abuse though, when they are not Renpure Coupons, and if I buy other items how do they decide what they came off of.
Jolene says
I did the deal back on black Friday and received full rebate but I can’t convince my teenagers to use it. They say it smells funny and leaves their hair greasy. It’s been put to use giving barbies bubble baths. lol.
Caroline says
@Jolene, I also did the deal on Black Friday and received the rebate in early January. I never tried the product…I think I gave it away…so I had to giggle at all the comments about how the product stinks!
cindy says
I recieved the rebate about a month ago – sounds to me like they reached the limit they were expecting to issue rebates to and everyone else got screwed.
Jan says
Hmmmm. That’s funny. I got my rebate a few weeks back. But, I remember thinking it was such “severe abuse” of them to take over 3 months to send me my $4.99 rebate check. Severe abuse, really? I think they could have chosen a little less dramatic approach. I do wish rebate language was more specific though and answered these questions upfront.
Liz* says
so using store credit to buy their products is “SEVERE ABUSE”???
Ha! Well, Renpure doesn’t have to worry about me “abusing” them anymore… my “hard earned” Ups and ECB will be used to “abuse” Pantene. :-p
Anne says
Aye, aye! I’m with ya, sister! I paid 5.99 OUT OF POCKET and they denied mine because I got $4 in RR at Walgreen’s back AFTER purchasing… how is that fair??????
tonya says
my ra manager told me that up rewards are actually paid by the manufacturer….not sure if he is correct, but maybe that is why the company feels that you already participated in an offer. I completely don’t agree, but I’m just wondering. also no one really knows that the manufacturer pays those up rewards… but that is why he said the tuna one got pulled because the MANFC did not anticipate the sale (not ra)
Shannon says
@tonya,
As far as the UPR we know it is the manufacturer doing the rebate on these items.
My point is it is not their offer. That is like saying I cannot pay with a SCR rebate check because I got the check via rebate check or I cannot pay with a OYNO catalina because its an offer. it is really a disgrace that they pulled this.
Rose says
Agreed. The product stinks! Really, really hope I get my rebate! I can’t remember if I used any upr or not!
Valerie says
Never used it, and definitely never will! Seems like they don’t quite understand how RR, Ups, and ECBs work….
Kim says
Bait and switch. Classic. Hmmmm will you buy this product in the future?
Michelle says
I bought the Renpure at CVS on Black Friday when it was free after ECBs. I submitted for the rebate and just got the full amount back a couple weeks ago.
sakin amber says
Similar stuff happened to me “Nature Made $5 rebate. I bought over $40 vitamins from Nature Made. I used only 2 $1.50 man. Coupons and 1 $2 RA video coupon plus my Up rewards. Here What I got. “Thank you for your interest in the Nature Made $5 rebate. Unfortunately, your submission did not meet the official terms and conditions of this offer for the following reason(s)
1.Does not meet minimum purchase requirement of $30 after subtracting coupons, discounts and tax.”
AKelly says
I’m very confused about their statement. The consumer was still out their store cash, and it wasn’t Renpure’s “other offer”. ?? All of our rebates cleared. Glad we sent them in before they changed their mind.
Amber says
Hmmm. It doesn’t sound like they are upset at people submitting multiple rebates (which I have done because the rebate doesn’t state ‘One per household’) they are upset at people using rewards programs to pay for the product?? I *think* I have recieved all of my rebates so far but will have to double check and I certainly won’t be buying again if this is their new rule.
Super Saver Sarah says
@Amber,
Correct. I contacted them and was told that they “abuse” they’re referring to is people submitting receipts using ECB/RR/+UP as payment. They don’t care about multiple rebates per household. In fact, as long as you pay with cash/credit/check they don’t care how many you submit. Mmmkay…LOL!
yulean says
I just lost $6.99 of my RR. I wish they go out of business!
Sarah says
@yulean, Grr! I just lost $11.00 in RR’s and paid the remaining balance out of pocket… Although I still haven’t used any of the product I will most definately NOT be purchasing from them agian based on principle. In addition, my frusteration will not be silent. Their lack of maintaining their side of the agreement on one transaction will effect the possibility of not only additional transaction with me but many more based on their customer’s negative company reputation through word of mouth. I firmly state – I will not purchase any product by them in the future even if they have a quality product or there is a bargain and will encourage others to also not support a company does not treat their customers with respect.
Anne says
I had the same problem with the NatureMade rebate – I used $30 in NatureMade coupons, but paid the remaining $40 with UPRs. They insisted that the UPRs were coupons, so would not count. :(
ji says
@Anne,
Same thing happened to me on the Nature vitamin’s when I paid with my RA plus ups rewards. What do they care?? Those plus ups didn’t come from them. This is why I hate rebate programs and rarely participate. I will never buy those brand of vitamins again – too many other choices out there. I didn’t do the Renpure deal but I won’t buy their product either.
Anne says
whoo – I just got my mail today, and inside was a $5 rebate check from NatureMade! So I guess they listened to complaints :) :)
Brooke says
SO glad I sent mine in right away and already got the check back since I bought a shampoo and conditioner set of 2 back when they were buy one get free. Ended up with 2 bottles of shampoo and 2 of conditioner for free. Glad I didn’t pay anything for them, cause they are awful.
Jen T says
@Brooke, I’ve seen a lot of people say that the product stinks! I’ve never tried it and I was procrastinating on buying it even with the TMF rebate. I’m so glad I did, but I hate that all my “coupon friends” are getting messed over on this! =(
Tami R. says
@Jen T, I bought a few of these a while back and got all my rebates back. But if I had to pay for this item, I would be upset. As many people have said, the product doesnt work very well at all.
lynn @ Maven of Savin says
Ridiculous!
