It didn’t print any UPs for me for the Old Spice deal. So I returned the 2 deodorants & 2 free body washes and they gave me full credit ($13.98) for all the items even though it was only $4 OOP? Is that how it’s supposed to work? I told the cashier it didn’t seem honest??
Shannon says
@Rachel,
did you use coupons? they will get reimbursed for coupons.
Rachel says
@Shannon, Yes I used coupons. Thanks! I feel kind of guilty about taking te refund.
Shannon says
They will get the money back from the coupons. :)

The Old Spice deal worked. It is unadvertised. The cashier said that she would not be able to tell me if there is a UPR printed before I paid for the items. I used the FREE Old Spice Body Wash wyb Deodorant, exp. 3-31. I also was able to use the $1 off two Old Spice P&G (exp. 3/31/11). However, in North Orange County, CA, the Old Spice Body Wash was $5.29. There was a $2 UPR for Gillette, so it was worth taking the risk. Thanks for the tips!
FYI, Eucerin Dry Skin Therapy Plus Intensive Repair Body Creme 4 oz. is on clearance for $3.74 (originally 7.49).

I have not done the deal but i have the coupons. From wht i have read here it seems that some coupons state different things. Do some coupons say “of equal or lesser value” and some “$3.99 limit” or are all the coupons the same just some store dont care. I RLY want the deal to work..i guess i just have to hope that they push the coupon thru anyways..any one have any suggestions or help on how they got managers to push it through?

I actually did this deal in AL and the store manager helped push the coupons through, but it only produced one $2 UPR. It was something about the price of the deodorants costing less than the body wash.
Buy 2 Deodorants
Buy 2 Body Washes
– $1/2 Old Spice deodorant
– Free OS Body Wash
– Free OS Body Wash
Pay $4
Get back (1) $2 UPRs.

Not free, but still cheap and my husband still loves his Old Spice! :)
Che says
Hi, thanks for this. It worked here in Southern California.
Holly Gardner says
Very interesting – I bought 3 deodorants and 3 body wash using the coupon and only received 2 +UPS. I thought there was a limit, but as I read that people did get more than 2 +Ups, I remembered that the the third coupon did not ring (I found it when I checked my receipt in the car). I had to go back in from the car and they gave me the $3.99 in cash. Could the coupon be triggering the +UP, rather than the purchase of the products?
Emily says
Did the deal in Oregon and it worked no problem…. used the buy deodorant get body wash free, they were priced $4.99 each at my store, had 20% discount so they rang up at $3.99, the max value of coupon, so got those for free and used 2 $1 off 1 old spice deodorant coupon from P&G book. Paid $3 got back $4, so nice $1 MM…. yeah :)
Angi says
It worked for me (Kentucky). I’m sure my qp probably said ‘of equal or lesser value’ also, but neither I nor the cashier caught it.

Hi everyone,
I have two questions:
Actually its a deal.
Rite Aids has similac ready feed forumal on sale 4.99 this week in the sales ads.
There is a $5 coupon in this week ss. So free formula.
Second question am i the only person who only recieved one smart source in the philly inquirer. I brought 4 paper and they all had one ss.
Shannon says
@msrossdaboss,
Philly doesn’t carry RP. :(
Jena says
@Shannon, I went to Dollar Tree as I always do to get my papers, and 1 had the Red plum and the rest did not. I went back and checked through them all, and found 4 more! Never paid attention to this. Will have pay better attention!
Sophia says
@msrossdaboss,
I received one SS insert in the Lancaster paper, even though all the coupon preview websites said there would be two SS today. When comparing my SS with an online coupon preview, I noticed mine had a combination of coupons listed in both SS in the previews. I bought 4 Harrisburg papers this morning and it had 2 SS as well as RP. My best guess is that today’s paper had lots of regional coupons–maybe the Lancaster and Philly area didn’t get a lot of these coupons so they combined two SS into one. I say it’s my best guess because I didn’t even look at that Harrisburg coupons yet…lol I figured if that paper had 3 inserts, it’s gotta be money well spent (versus buying additional Lancaster papers this week.)
Shannon says
there were definitely two this week.
Julie says
@Sophia, If you look in the fine print on the binding of your inserts, you’ll see the Lancaster paper has the same inserts as Lebanon, Pottsville, and Reading Eagle. I get the Harrisburg Patriot delivered and it had 3 inserts. Lebanon only had 2, which is why I never renewed my home subscription. They often didn’t have the same amount of inserts or any SS inserts at all–which I did kindly complain about! I don’t know the reasoning, but on good insert weeks, I usually only buy additional Patriots. I bought 2 Lebanon papers yesterday since Patriots were sold out @ CVS (needed to use expiring ECBs) and was disappointed to only get 2 inserts.
msrossdaboss says
@Julie,
Thanks everyone for replying. I only had one smart source not two in my paper. It DID NOT include the $3/2 Aveeno nor the B1G1 free clean and clear. I just order mines from wholecouponinserts which seem like the best idea. instead of running around trying find them.
Sophia says
@Julie,
Julie, thanks for the info! Without sharing more personal information than you are comfortable with–do you live in the Lebanon area and/or is the HBG Patriot relatively easy for you to find? My local Giant carries it but if I am not there before 8 AM, they’re almost always sold out (or they only have 1-2 copies left). I can buy the Lancaster paper for $1 at Dollar Tree but it is almost always worth the $2 for the Patriot. I just can’t get my hands on enough of them. I used to be a Philly Inquirer fan until RP was pulled…that was a real bummer because the Philly Inq was (still is) generous with their distribution in Lancaster County. It is a shame to see so many papers sitting on the rack now on Sundays…no one wants the P.I. since there’s no RP…
Julie says
@Sophia,
Yes, Lebanon area. The Patriot is easy for me to find since I live in their delivery area and get Sunday only home delivery. One place to check (in addition to grocery stores) is gas stations like Hess or Sheetz. I know that it’s easy to buy the inserts or individual qs online, but if there’s a great sale that I want to hit up on Sunday or Monday, I just buy extra papers. Maybe you could even call the Patriot and ask if you’re in their delivery area or if they could tell you stores in your area where their paper is sold? http://www.patriot-news.com/index.php

i was about to do the saame deal this morning but my store manager pointed to me that the b1g1 coupon says ”of equal or less valuer” the deo is $2.50 and the bw is nuch more than $2.50 so this deal is a no go
Kristin M says
@lilia,
I was going to also, had the coupons and everything – then read the fine print. I didn’t want to pay the difference for the body wash. Hey, if their cashiers pushed them thru, lucky them! I wasn’t expecting to get so lucky so I didn’t use them.
