I hope I don’t lose Rite Aid as a place to coupon pretty soon!
The first time I went to coupon at Rite Aid I was rung up by a fellow couponer, and she didn’t give me any hassle at all. I was able to use all of my coupons, got a great deal, and even got a rain check on the Nivea body wash, because they were out of stock (remember the $4 coupon and their $3.99 sale?) I felt really relieved about that, because I go into these stores usually apprehensive and expecting to get a hard time. CVS and Walgreens have been great, and I always hear horror stories on these blogs about Walgreens so I’ve been feeling good about my local store. The last two times I’ve gone to Rite Aid the cashiers were nice to me until they scanned all of my coupons and saw the total I was paying for the amount of stuff I was getting. Then they started to act really cold towards me. I don’t know if it’s because they think I might be pulling some sort of fraud, if they see I’m getting free items, or if it’s because they feel like they’re being ripped off…. Today I went and grabbed a bunch of stuff for $20, plus I’m getting a bunch of rebates so it’ll end up being less than that. Oh, and I got those Foster Grant sunglasses because of a post someone did here – Thanks! Well, I saw this cashier get progressively po’d as she was scanning the coupons. They finally had the Nivea body wash in stock, so I was going to get it for $3.99 with the rain check and use the $4 coupon. For a *second* she almost started to argue with me about it, because the coupon was higher than the item. I was just polite and said, “Usually they just decrease the amount of the coupon to match the item price.” I think she was just mad because she had to do a void on that item and re-ring it up.. I didn’t know that you actually have to give them the rain check for the item right after they ring it up (or that’s what she told me). She did the rain check/coupon, but then she called up a manager for “approval” after she kept scanning the rest of my coupons. Then when I paid and the manager was there, she said she didn’t really need an approval. I think she called the manager up to take a look at me or something? I know I’m not doing anything wrong, but I feel like a thief now. At any rate, I’ve only been going there lately because of the Huggies deal, and next I need to complete the J&J/Aveeno rebate. Maybe I’ll just stop going there for awhile after that. I don’t need the drama. =)

I’m new to this but I wanted to try a deal this week:
Buy
(3) m&m’s @ 3.99 (ad. deal BOGO)
(1) venus 4 cartridges refill on clearance @ 5.49
advertised deal buy venus cartridge get shave gel free (gel is 2.99)
total BC 20.45
Use
5off20 coupon
B2GO M&M (3.99) coupon
M&M BOGO deal (3.99)
Venus coupon (2.00)
shave gel deal (2.99)

I don’t know if this sounds right and I don’t know if Riteaid will honor the ad deal for shave gel with a clearance purchase – cartridges are usually 10.99 and up
Thanks for any advice

San Diego, CA. I’ve done a little research and noticed the UP+ was only in test markets, but San Diego was not on the list I found. Of course, maybe it was supposed to be on the list, because I know SD was an original test market for the Wellness card.

I did the Huggies deal this week, but got a surprise BONUS!
1st Transaction
Bought 2 packs of Huggies with candy filler and used $5/$20 and 2 – $3 Huggies coupons.
2nd Transaction
Bought 3 packs Huggies and used $5/$25 and 3- $3 Huggies coupons.
The receipt from the 2nd transaction printed this BONUS:
+UP Reward: $11.99 off a non-prescription purchase from the purchase of Huggies
HAS ANYBODY ELSE SEEN A REWARD LIKE THIS?
I was still able to submit my receipts for the Huggies voucher SCR, so it looks like I’ll get 7 packs for around $21!

I justed called 1-800-RITE-AID and they said that the flyer is incorrect. There is no Video Values Coupon for Huggies. They are sending me a $5 gift card for the inconvenience. :)
Brianna says
Mine is only $1 also!
Shannon says
@Brianna,
I use a coupon database – so its possible the data was incorrect in there. I don’t physically check every coupon.. :)

Hi Shannon, thanks for doing all the hard work in putting these together for us! I just wanted to mention that it looks like you might have forgotten to put that the Kellogg’s Cereals are Buy One Get One Free.
Thanks again for all your hard work!
Shannon says
@Kristina at Balancing Budgets and Babies,
I saw they were on sale but the best price is $4.99 and the final price is over my normal price post for cereal.
Tricia says
There is also a May Video Value coupon you could use for the Neosporin :)
Shannon says
@Tricia,
Nice.
Kathleen says
What would be the best scenario for the M&Ms? If you got 4 bags, 2 would be free with the BOGO sale and I think you could still use the B2G1 free coupon. Not sure!
Shannon says
@Kathleen
Yep that works.
Brianna says
Anybody know anything for sure about that Huggies Video Values coupon? I still don’t see it.
Shannon says
@Brianna,
Its not online .
It is listed in the ad, so hopefully it shows up tomorrow.
Kathleen F says
it was the free first aid kit when you buy three neosporin, bandaid or purell products… which you can do with the bandaids and neosporin this week.
Shannon, hope you had a great trip.

Hey Shannon,
There was a rebate involving J&J Band Aid products wyb 3, but I don’t remember the details. Do you remember posting something like that on your website?
Shannon says
@Beth,
I think it is Johnson & Johnson Lotions and things that you were thinking about. Let me double check it. Thanks beth!
