Happy New Year to all – special thanks to Shannon for all the hard work all year round – you have helped me save a bundle this last year.
I purchased over $20 of the Nivea lip care products and did not receive my $10 Up Reward it also said my Resolution Reward total is only $8.00. I purchased a few other items and used coupons and wellness plus coupons so I only paid $0.07 for my transaction. I had to call Rite Aid to get my $10 up reward. Anyone else having issues? As far as the Vick products – they are limited to one per Wellness Plus membership as stated in the flyer.
Shannon says
@Erik,
Hey Erik, I cannot figure out the tracking on the Resolution Rewards at all and I cannot seem to get an answer from Rite Aid either!
Erik says
@Shannon,
It appears to have been updated. My total is now $33.97 while I calculated $31.55. Do you know if the Air Wick deal is additive or has to be done in one transaction as I already made a $12.99 purchase. No $5 coupon for me in my wellness account – oh well.
Thanks again for all you do!!
Shannon says
@Erik,
I don’t know if it carries sorry Erik. I think another reader is going to try it though, I will update if I get information that it does.
Jenna says
Also, in the Allure magazine PG gift packs, there were $7 worth of PG coupons, included was a $2 off Secret Clinical that would make it free after MQ and UPR. This is all I use so I was happy to see that as I haven’t seen a good deal on these since I started couponing 9 months ago- and esp not one that made them free! Just thought I’d pass the info along :) Thanks!
Jenna says
Have you heard about limits on upr printing for the Nyquil/Daquil? I know the ad says limit 1 on the UPR, just wondering if you or anyone else was able (or even tried) to get more. Thanks!!
Brenda says
@Jenna,
I decided to buy 2 because with my coupons it was already free, before the UP’s. I was happy and suprised when 2 printed out.
Andrea says
I have only been coupon shopping for about 3 months so I am definitely just a beginner. Today at Rite Aid, along with my many other purchases, I ‘tried’ to buy two herbal essence products using the BOGO coupon AND the $1/1 coupon but was told by the very nice cashier that they could not be used together because the coupon says that they cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer. Do you think the cashier was just fed up of all my coupons or is this correct? And he also wouldn’t let me use the $4 sinex coupons off the dayquil/nyquil. I diidn’t want to cause a fuss because I shop there every week but maybe I’ll go to another rite aid and try again later in the week.
Michele C says
Love the sticky idea for free stuff. I admit I like colors for freebies elsewhere but I go there very last since that’s the only use for that site. Love what you do Shannon. Your list is realistic and not filled with trial freebies.
Dee says
DEAL ALERT!
If you buy the Gillette clinical strength, look for boxes that say “coupons inside.” The coupons are for free Gillette body wash when you buy Gillette deodorant. The box is easy to open. I say take it out and use it on the spot.
The $3 UPR when you buy 2 Gillette body washes would make it a $3 money maker.
Heather says
I have a GOS question…. It deducted a 1.00 from my 1/off any purchase VV coupon so my total came up .65 short of the 100 dollar mark! Does anyone know why that particular coupon was deducted and no other one was? It’s driving me crazy that I missed it by a few cents!
Shannon says
@Heather,
Video Values coupons were deducted.
Heather says
@Shannon,
Thanks for the reply Shannon! I love your blog! My 4/20 VV q wasn’t deducted though. Hmmm, I think I would’ve rather missed it by a long shot than a few cents lol. Oh well!
Shannon says
@Heather,
email me Heather — shannon@forthemommas.com —
majunee says
same here with the free search…if you could put em on top…thnx!
Erin says
Just as a note, Sinex was included in with the Vicks Dayquil/Nyquil promotion making the deal as listed below. It didn’t register the $4 coupon as matching the item (even though all it said was a Sinex product), but the store just did an override.
Vicks DayQuil or NyQuil $5.00
get $2.00 +UPR (limit 1)
use $4/1 Sinex Product 12/26/2010 P&G Insert (exp 1/31/2011) (if included)
I was also able to use the Pantene coupons together on 2 items making that deal as follows:
Pantene 2/$7.00
get $1.00 +UPR wyb 2
use B1G1 Pantene Shampoo WYB Pantene 11/28/2010 P&G Insert (exp 12/31/2010)
and use $3/2 Pantene Product 12/26/2010 P&G Insert (exp 1/31/2011)
Crista says
Are you still using the ‘shopping list’ feature? LOVED IT!
Shannon says
Yes just not this week Crista — with Christmas – the extra 30 minutes to do the list just wasn’t a possibility … back next week I promise :)
SandyK says
We love free stuff Shannon, great idea!! This is a great week for getting lots of freebies for the shelter we go to once a month. They loved the deodorant and shaving stuff last month. This month we will have more plus tons of Nivea for them!!!
Julie says
I’m making my list and just thought of something else–do you think I could combine the B1G1 and $3/2 Pantene coupons for a 50c moneymaker after UP?
Shannon says
@Julie,
You would have to buy 3.
poshtots says
@Julie,
I did and had NO problem!!
Julie says
@poshtots, Thanks, I’m going to try it! This is a great week @ Riteaid!
Oanh says
The Gillette Fusion Proglide Razor with the shaving cream and little after shave rang up as $9.97 and produced $5+Up too.
Shannon says
@Oanh,
Thanks Oanh.
Julie says
I believe the nivea lip care could be free if one had enough coupons to get 10 of them! Buy 10 @ $20, use 5 B1G1 coupons, get $10 UPR= free! Or use 5 of the above mentioned $2/2 coupons.
Oh, and if anyone needs reading glasses, they are B1G1 50% off with $5 UP wyb 2. Also a coupon in the clip and save for $3 off any insight tube reading glasses. Dunno but maybe that is a good deal?
Shannon says
@Julie,
I will check out the reading glasses — my Dad always LOSES his. LOL
Jennifer says
Hey Shannon – I just had a question for you, is there a reason you don’t color code deals like for free, GREAT deals and then not so great deals?
Reason I ask is I really like your matchups, and you were the one to get me hooked on Rite Aid, but I have started to use other bloggers just because it is alot easier for me, especially when I don’t have much time, to just look for the deals in Green and Red, etc..
Thanks:)
Jennifer
Shannon says
@Jennifer,
I don’t do that because whats a deal to me isn’t necessarily a deal to you and so forth. Some people need Prilosec and $15 is a great price. Some people use only a certain brand lotion and its a good deal for them. Basically, my feelings on it is to do the matchups and let a reader decide what they think is worth it to buy. Same reason you don’t see me using the word HOT in every other post. A deal is only a deal if you need it. Of course, free items are different story – if its free I would grab it, but I’ve seen some highlighted deals that aren’t necessarily good deals. Unless its free or I need it.
Also, my new print list doesn’t allow for color changes – I didn’t use it this week due to time limitations – but it won’t let me change the list colors and still allow it to print.
Use what lists you feel work best for you of course — I try to do matchups with all the items that I think people may need and are a decent price if you need it – some blogs are just catering to people who want a cheap find and other matchup everything single item in the ad. You have to use what works best for you.
Shannon
Brenda says
@Shannon,
Thank you for all that you do for us Shannon. I can only imagine how long it takes you to do these store match-ups.
Tiffany says
@Shannon,
Good point Shannon! Somethings are things that are an awesome deal for me and are maybe not important to someone else! It can be easier to see what is free or close to free if in color but then I would tend to forget the other deals!! And miss out on other great deals!!
I love your site!! On it all day!! THANK YOU :)
Shannon says
@Tiffany,
I think what I will start to do is stick the FREE stuff on the top of the post.

@Shannon, That would help so much, that way we wouldn’t accidentally miss anything free;)

If the free items were listed first that would be awesome. I usually do a page search for the word “free” to find the deals ha ha and that would make it so much easier

@miranda,

@Shannon, I think your blog is more user-friendly because the layout and lack of color is easier to read. Thanks for your hard work!

@Rachel,
I agree on both counts – I’d like the free stuff first on the list – but since I’m “font sensitive” (remember me, Shannon – I’m the one from fb that was wondering why your blog changed fonts? he he), I like when everything is the same size and color b/c it allows me to decide rather than my eye go to one place or another. And I really appreciate all your hard work as well!! You are my go to blog for the Lehigh Valley area in PA! :D
Shannon says
Yep Sherrie of course I do.
From a personal perspective, I cannot do light colored or red fonts — gives me a headache.. but I will start listing freebies at the top to make it easier.
