When I was at the store on Sunday, I asked about the Monthly Deals. I was told that there was a printing issue and they would be resending the tags. I am going to go check it out today – but if you see any monthly deal signs – let us know ! I am hoping for some great deals like last month. However, they can keep the Hormel Chili – that stuff is not good! (right Tina?)

I’ve gotten a kick out of your chili posts, and I wouldn’t touch the stuff myself. Anything free that I find I give to the homeless shelter. I’ve been doing coupons and following your sites for a year, and give my community shelter nearly $1,000 worth of food, toiletries and medicine a month. Yeah, it costs $100 or so oop, but these are the things shelters need. So that’s what I’d do with those chili cans and anything else you don’t really need. You’ll be surprised how easy it is to get into the habit once you drop of your first bag. It’s also deductible if you itemize your deductions (they’ll give you an acknowledgement slip, but it’s up to you to put a cost on your contribution).

Bob,
isnt that one of the most rewarding parts of couponing. You get to give way more than you ever imagined! Kudos to you for being so gracious and giving.

I seen some +UP signs today on folgers coffee, lays stax, chex mix, planters nuts and more. I am not sure if these are weekly or monthly. They have several big white signs on a few end caps, so I am thinking monthly!

My son uses it to make pizza. He puts it on a boboli crust, then adds jalepenos and mexican shredded cheese. He likes it a lot this way.
Karen says
This is too funny…I think the chili as it comes out of the can smells like dog food…so I get some sour cream and cheese in a big bowl….hold my breath…open the chili and pour it on top of the other stuff and then microwave it for a few minutes and eat it with my tostitos. THIS IS THE ONLY WAY I WILL EAT CHILI FROM A CAN.
It’s funny how we all like it as a dip when it’s supposed to be a meal.
As for those compleats—-I tried them once….coupon or no coupon….free or almost free….you can keep them….they are gross in my opinion.

The monthly deals now start onWednesdays instead of Sundays.

LOL, so funny you say that… just this afternoon I was looking in my little stockpile cabinet in the basement at my 8 cans of Hormel chili and thinking “that looks really gross. There’s no way my husband will ever let me feed that to him. What was I thinking?!”
I guess I was thinking it’s free and it will help me get my $20 reward!! Maybe I’ll try the dip thing…
Kristina says
@Kristina,
OK, I know I’m replying to myself but this was so funny I had to share. My husband just went into the stockpile downstairs where I had hid the chili. He came back and said “Hormel chili? AWESOME! You can buy as much of that as you like, I LOVE that stuff!” Wow, guess I really don’t know him…! :)
Jennifer says
Ok, so I have a twist on Sherri’s recipe… Omit the chopped onion but add some salsa on top of the cream cheese and chili then shredded cheese. Bake at 350 for 30 min. Serve with tortilla chips. It’s really good!
Felicia says
The bean dip with cream cheese IS really good. I tried it a while back. It grossed me out at first but at allrecipes the reviews are so good I had to try it. It is yuummmy. Seriously.
Shannon says
@Felicia,
ok ok ok I am going to try it .. if I get sick.. its your fault Felicia :P he he
Maria @ Oh Lovely Coupons says
The can keep the hormel complete too. Yuck!!!! I did not buy any but when I first started to coupon It was on the glorious Kmart Doubles and I had the $1 blinkie so I got many of them for free and I sent hubby to work with one as lunch. Around 12:30 I got a phone call to never ever think that he will be eating this hahahaha it’s his coupon story about me :-/ “but it was free”
Shannon says
@Maria @ Oh Lovely Coupons,
oh Maria, the compleats is just gross. I am positive nothing can help it.
coralie says
@Maria @ Oh Lovely Coupons, Maria, I should have read this at home, not at the library when I was cracking up!
sherrie says
That’s SO funny, I wasnt going to buy it, b/c the thought of canned chili is just gross – I cant imagine all the preservatives, etc, but since it was free, I grabbed my 5 cans. Well, I never planned to eat it as, you know, dinner, so I searched allrecipes for some recipes using chili, and I’m sold! You put 8 oz cream cheese in a pie plate, the can of chili (I used with beans – the kids like beans and they’re good for you) some chopped raw onion and a nice handful or two of shredded cheddar on top. Bake for 15-20 minutes at 350 serve with tortilla chips – the kids really liked it, and so did I! :D

I didn’t think I would like the Hormel Chili either, but my husband convinced me to eat it a couple nights ago. I’m still paying for that decision. He can eat it all he wants, or it’s being donated. I’m really hoping it gets donated…lol
Sally says
We love the chili, no problems with it here. It was on “Unwrapped” on the food network the other night. If you can watch that and still want to eat it, then it’s really not that bad!
Shannon says
@Sally,
oh bless you Sal. No way, I almost barfed putting it into the pot.
Carol says
@Shannon, Shannon, you totally crack me up. And I have to say, we have some serious canned chili eaters in my house!
Shannon says
I will be happy to send you chili. All.of.it.
Sally says
@Shannon, Did you get any of the Compleats? Now those are pretty disgusting!!! Chris still eats them, though, he would eat anything. I don’t eat the chili straight up, I mix it with Velveeta for a dip. Even worse, LOL!!
Sally says
@Shannon, Oops, didn’t read all the other replies before I said that, it was covered already. Now I have to try the cream cheese chili dip, too!
Jennifer K. says
There were some tags in my store for a $2 UPR when you buy two of this certain brand items (forget the brand). They were in the “hardware” area. It was, like, nails, clips, key rings, stuff like that. The cheapest thing was $2.99. I forget the date that it ended, but it was either the end of Feb. or beginning of March. Not sure if it would be considered a monthly deal or not. Didn’t interest me in the least.
Amy says
the only way to eat the chili is to melt 4oz of cream cheese in it and use it as a dip for corn chips. We do this for football parties and everyone loves it. The no bean varity is better for the dip. Other than that not so great.
Michelle says
LOL Shannon! I didn’t get any of the Hormel Chili because it grossed me out. So I guess I wasn’t missing much. Eh?
