Update Again: This deal is dead.
So if you were thinking of taking advantage of the candy deal I posted here, you may want to reconsider. It appears as though Rite Aid is aware of the UPR and is advising its associates to not give the $2.00 UPR’s to customers. I am sure not all stores are taking the UPR, but it looks like many are.

THey can’t deny them..how do they know we didn’t buy the big bags, KWIM? No way for them to tell, thank God since I have a ton!
Shannon says
Totally agree Jennifer!

I went back to the store late last night to use my UP rewards from the candy- thankfully they scanned without any problem- I only have 1 of the $2 ones left- so even if they do create a PR disaster and not let us use them, i’m not out too much money!
Autumn says
Ummm yeah of course this was great for a hot minute but DO keep in mind Rite Aid DM’s and the higher associates follow along with these blogs.
@Mary: totally with ya! It’s become exhausting! I feel as if my house is filthy dirty but my stock room is stocked which makes me semi-happy… Although hubby could care less! :/
Amy says
Not sure if you figured this out (tons of comments!), but there was a $2 per bag UPR on club-size candy. I think their system mis-coded some smaller sizes (which should have only printed a $1 UPR for 2 bags) so that they also printed a $2 UPR for each bag.
I bought the smaller size of Swedish fish and got my $1 on 2 UPR, plus 2 extra $2 UPRs on Monday. I couldn’t figure it out until I looked at the ad and remembered seeing the sale tag by the (intimidatingly huge) club-sized bags.

Ugh makes me nervous that they won’t take my up rewards from this deal! Shannon it makes me feel better that you think they’ll take. Could you imagine how many people will be ticked off!
Bernell says
This is HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!!
I try and coupon while my husband is at work so he won’t see all the bags I bring home!!!!!!!!!!!!LOLOL
Lucia says
This deal is not working anymore. It produces just the $1 Up reward, no more $2 Up rewards.
Carol says
Funny!
Tammy- Lady Savings says
I just tried this deal…luckily I only bought 2 bags of candy to try it and I was going to get more if it worked. I only got the $1 +UP:( I pulled up your site when I got home because I figured you would have and update :)
lynzee h. says
went back tonight and used my upr just incase on diapers, needed them anyways lol.
was a great deal while it lasted!!!!
Grace says
LOL MARY!
I am ready to take a break from Rit Aid as well. I am looking forward to the FREEBATES next two weeks. That is about it.
Dee says
I am happy they put a stop to this as in my eyes a number of people were abusing the system in a BIG way. I read on a website of one person getting 90 bags!!! Now that is just a joke! That’s 9 transactions.
Now that really is pushing the boundaries. You have to wonder if it is because of people abusing mistakes like this that give them reasons to pull the $5/$25 VV coupon. I’m not saying don’t do the deal but do it within reason. A few bags, yes. 90 really? Do you need 90 bags of candy, even with halloween on our doorstep????
Shannon says
@Dee,
I agree that is just nuts.
Mary says
Is anyone else getting Rite-Aid fatigue?
I can’t wait to “cash” my +UPRs in for SCR next week and take a nice long break.
I’ve inserted the word “coupons” below as necessary:
* You’re neglecting your responsibilities at school, work, or home (e.g. flunking classes, skipping work, neglecting your children) because of your COUPON use.
* You’re using COUPONS under dangerous conditions or taking risks while high, such as driving while COUPON CLIPPING or using EXPIRED COUPONS.
* Your COUPON use is getting you into legal trouble, such as attempting to use a 5+48+49 COUPON.
* Your COUPON use is causing problems in your relationships, such as fights with your CASHIER, an unhappy DISTRICT MANAGER, or the loss of EXPIRED +UPRs
Shannon says
@Mary,
I spit my drink on my computer. LOL take a break.
Joni says
Yep! Dead in Northern California…bummer!!
A Coupon Chick says
Dead, dead, dead in Washington, DC. Bought 12 bags, got 6 Up’s, that’s it!
Michelle says
Shannon, do you think they’ll allow us to redeem our $2 UPR’s?
Chachu says
Uhoh, now I’m concerned that my $20 of UPR won’t be valid. Should I get to Rite Aid asap?
Shannon says
@Chachu,
I wouldn’t be too concerned, that would be a PR disaster for them , they would have to be complete idiots to do that.
Grace says
I finally got my sweedish fish. :) yey! Now lets hope that Rite Aid takes all the UPS from this deal. I think they will have many upset customers if they decide not to take them. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Michelle says
Surely they’ll alllow us to redeem out $2upr!!! If not I’m returning the candy. I if something like this would have happened at CVS they would still honor the ECBs.
Shannon says
@Michelle,
Yes Michelle, I am sure they will.
Michele says
Dead in Philly at 4:45pm
Anna says
Shannon- any concerns that they will not accept the $2 UP rewards on future purchases?? I’m a little worried about that and don’t know if I should try to spend them ASAP- have you heard anything?
Tiffany says
I did this deal this morning, 9:30am in CA, without any problems. The cashiers seemed really surprised, but didn’t have a problem with it. Do you predict issues in redeeming the UP+’s that we’ve earned from this deal?
Ashley says
Tried this deal yesterday in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area and only the $1 UPR printed out. :(
Kelly says
I was just at Rite Aid an hour ago and they have a sign up that says there is a glitch with the up rewards and you will not receive extra ones. Boo! Should have gone earlier today!
Misty says
Glad I got my 12 bags when I did! I had no problems yesterday or today getting all of my +UP Rewards!
Rei says
I hope they let us redeem the $2 +Up rewards…
Steph says
Just returned and got none of the $2 up rewards :(
None printed at all…shouldn’t have tried to roll them “one more time”
Katherine says
I just got back and I bought 6 bags of Swedish Fish (14 oz) and did NOT get any of the $2 UPRs. Manchester, NH.
Bree says
Shannon I actually think this deal is dead. The cashier actually had trouble putting through my UPRs from the candy. Also, I tried the deal again and no $2 UPRs are printing, just the $1 UPR for every bag purchased.
My advice to anyone who still hasn’t used their UPRs from the candy – do so ASAP!
Lauren @ I am THAT lady says
I just came back from Rite Aid and was able to get one transactions, since that was the only kind left in the store. They gave me to +UP with no problem, but i def. depends on the store I guess.
BM says
I just took advantage of this deal 1 1/2 hours ago!! SWEET! Rolled them with no problem. I even gave both cashiers a bag of candy for their children!
