I just found out that Yoder’s is now open on Sundays. Apparently, they are trying to get people in to do shopping and my Dad received a flyer yesterday when he stopped in for “one day Sunday specials”. I haven’t seen the flyer myself (and couldn’t find it on the website), but below are some of the things that will be on sale this coming Sunday (1/24) –
Fresh boneless, skinless chicken tenders for $1.29/lb in value pack
Herr’s Tortilla Chips – Buy One at $3.79, Get Two free
Shrimp – 2 lb bag – $9.76 (limit 5)
Turkey Hill Iced Tea or Fruit Drinks – 1/2 gallon – $.98 (limit 5)
I think they also have Lance crackers, Bachman Jax and Amish Macaroni salad on sale. If you’re local you may want to call and see if you can get more details.

LOL! I knew someone would prove me wrong!!! ;)

Thanks for all the locals who posted comments about their blogs-I’m definitely going to check them out! I’m in the Reading area but sometimes get out to the “country” and down towards Lancaster. :)

Shannon,
I think you’re right! Like I said, I don’t typically shop there since I’m in the Philly suburbs, but do stop in sometimes when I’m up that way. I have found some really good deals on produce and a few times have bought chicken there in bulk on good specials. I used to think that things were cheaper in the “country” until I really started couponing and realized that’s just not the case! I can spend much less here in the “city”!

It’s so nice to see so many local readers! I live in Ephrata and I do post deals for the Family Owned Markets weekly, Shady Maple (when they have a special sale or something), Sharp Shopper finds, and highlights from the Shopping News. I would love to read a special post to the locals!! Have a great day :)

Lots of local readers! I was just wondering if anyone does coupon matchups for Stauffers and if anyone knows their coupon policy. I know they double coupons, but how many like coupons and up to how much? :-) thanks…
eunice b says
wow! there are local readers. :-) we’re north of lancaster and it’s so good to be able to read local deals! thanks!

This is the frustrating thing about not having a Kroger or Publix around here, or even a Meijer!! Shady maple takes internet coupons, but does not double them, Yoders will not take internet coupons, only manu., and DOES double them. It is exciting to read on forums where people only spend $40 a week on groceries, and unfortunately, it is impossible around here!
Shannon says
Lisa,
I live near Shady Maple. I spend $40 or less a week :)
I am in the middle of no where to, but there are ways. I will have to do a special post for my super local readers :)

My parents do most of their shopping at Yoder’s (FOM) in New Holland and my Mom would be interested in seeing match ups there. Even though I’m in the Philadelphia area – I’m up there often enough that I’d be interested in following, too! Always wondered if someone did match ups for Shady Maple Market, too – since it seems like it would appeal to a lot of people (not just locals) who make the trek there for the smorgasboard! Speaking of Yoder’s and Shady Maple…did you know that you can get a free meal/buffet at both of these places on your birthday? It has to be the exact day – unless your birthday falls on a Sunday and then you can go Saturday or Monday!

Lara,
I find SM to be very expensive anymore. The last year it seems as though their prices have really went up. I just got back from Martin’s Country Market and almost puked at the total for a few things. I needed them fast so no time to run to Weis or Giant.

I do it on my blog. I haven’t been good about it, but it is one that I post!

“coupon policy”
Shannon says
Thats the problem Becky, they all have different rules. :(

LOL! I just put up my first post about the deals at the FOM! I’ve only been blogging for a couple of months but being from Lancaster County I’ve shopped at several of the Family Owned Markets although I primarily shop at Oregon Dairy or Darrenkamp’s. I want to say that each store has their own but I will have to check on that. Thanks for the great example in blogging. Your site rocks!
Janel says
I just posted and linked back to you. And said I need to start doing the match ups, since they are 2 minutes from me!
Shannon says
Janel,
They are close to me too. However, I cant keep their coupon policies straight!
