Johnson & Johnson Rebate

There is a new update to the Johnson  & Johnson saga.  It looks like we are going to be just fine with the rebates!  Read Laurie and Diana’s comments. I want to thank everyone who called on this matter, I think they had some customer service problems!

I am quoting Laurie, a reader who left a comment:

“Just got off the phone with the customer service line. I was told you must spend $30 in products BEFORE coupons. It doesn’t matter what your out of pocket amount is. I was told that they are updating their systems and that’s why there is a lot of discrepancy going on about the requirements.”

and also Diana

” I called the number as well and was told that we’ll all be fine. They have fixed the problem–it was all a “misunderstanding”. So as long as you’ve circled the prices of each product and those total more than $30 than you will get the rebate.”

I have had many of you email me about the fact that Johnson & Johnson  rebate representatives are saying that this rebate has to be $30.00 after coupons used.

I just spent 20 minutes online with a representative (it did not go well).

I asked them if they would be penalizing me for using Rite Aid coupons? I asked them whether or not Johnson & Johnson placed the Beauty for All Ages Rebates ad in the Rite Aid circular where they knew that there would be coupons issued by Rite Aid. I got no good answers, except Sorry, Ma’am I am not sure what to tell you.

I think that is the bottom line – they are not sure what to tell us. I can’t imagine how they can police the thousands and thousands of rebates for coupon usage. I also can’t fathom why Johnson & Johnson would send out emails with coupons and the rebates and place ads in papers.

I just wanted to comment on it because I know many of you have emailed me.

I don’t have a really good answer for you.  I’d love to hear your thoughts.

I have to agree. I don’t see how they can not honor all these rebates. It would be a PR nightmare.

I agree, too. I just read all the fine print on the rebate form and there is nothing about coupon use. It simply says that you “must purchase $30.00 worth of products from 2 or more” brands. I’m just gonna send in my receipt and see what happens, I guess.

I sent all of my receipts in the other day – so hopefully they will honor the rebate and send me a check- if not, I still got some pretty good deals on a lot of product (which I probably wouldn’t have gotten if I knew there wasn’t a rebate)

I just sent mine in also…I guess we’ll see. I would think that they would honor these since there is nothing in the fine print that states otherwise.

Put mine in the mailbox this morning but I didn’t hear anything about them not honoring coupons. I’m sure they will have a lot of angry people if they don’t honor them!

This is EXACTLY why I always put my rebate items in a bag and stick them somewhere I won’t use them until my rebate comes. If it never comes, I sort through the bag and take items back if they were too costly without the rebate. I use a TON of Aveeno, so I ended up “splurging” on a big bottle for 11.49. Of course, all of the coupons made it way less, but if the rebate doesn’t come, I’ll take this bottle back to the store. Just a suggestion.

I agree. I am not too worried about it. The customer service reps are different people then those who process the rebates. I have faith that J&J will pull through for all of us. :)

Katie,

Good thought. The only problem is we have to send in the original receipt so we won’t be able to return and get our money back, except maybe get a store credit.

I plan on purchasing my items for the rebate at Wal-Mart along with my regular grocery shopping. So, my receipt will have grocery items as well as the rebate items. I have coupons for the rebate items as well as my grocery items. My receipt never specifies what my coupons are for, so how will Johnsons & Johnsons know what items I used coupons for? Does somebody know something I don’t about this tracking? It sounds like a lot of work for somebody to go through the receipt and track down coupon items.

The rebate form clearly states “$30 worth of items.” The items are still worth $30 even if coupons are used. They need to honor our rebates.

I believe that if enough of us call their customer service and request to speak with a manager about it, then we’ll get the point across. Johnson & Johnson is a very well known company that does not want a huge PR disaster like this will cause. So if you do not get a rebate, please call and complain, but specifically ask for a manager. The higher up you go, the better your results may be.

I spent about 20 minutes today talking with a rep from Johnson & Johnson…I walked him through my situation step by step and he said I shouldn’t have any problem recieving my rebate. I have $107 worth of product all together on 4 receipts…but my actual out of pocket showing on the receipts was $3.47 total….however I used nearly $20 worth of Register Rewards at Walgreens. He said just circle the products and the price they were and I should be fine. He also put me on hold while he spoke with a supervisor. I got his name and the Call confirmation of our conversation..so if I don’t get my rebate at least I have a confirmation number of our converasation. I went ahead and turned my in today…I wish us all luck.

I called the number as well and was told that we’ll all be fine. They have fixed the problem–it was all a “misunderstanding”. So as long as you’ve circled the prices of each product and those total more than $30 than you will get the rebate.

i just got off of the phone with Joyce and she said that you must, before coupons and tax, have spent $30.00 on the product. I questioned her about this and informed her that this was terrible PR for J&J. I told her that I would be returning $10.00 worth of product to get my rebate that way.

So can the $30 worth of products be on multiple receipts or must they all be on one?
